June 2026

This June was a whirlwind of events. One major milestone we celebrated was the conclusion of Dylan's high school career. More on that later.....

We celebrated Presley's 2nd Varsity letter. She did a great job at Fast Pitch Softball this season, mainly playing Centerfield and Pitcher

June brought Graduation season! While my favorite graduate was my sweet Dilly Bar, I enjoyed witnessing the commencement of quite a few other students that I've known over the course of my educational career.

My 2nd fave graduate is Makayla. I've known her for 7 years and shared many fun convos during her teen years at both of the schools we attended together.  She was so kind to bring me my fave Dutch beverage, card, and beautiful bouquet during her last week of school.

I will miss this future U of O Duck fiercely! Bonus: she can be my lawyer someday

Much like Dylan's academic career, the cap decorating project was begun at 8pm the night before. This was his football & baseball number

Senior Sunset is an annual tradition each school year that takes place the night before graduation. These guys make up this year's Football Seniors

And just like that, his very last day of school

Here we go!

sniff, sniff

I'm so incredibly proud! He finished with a 3.28 GPA which prepares him for whatever he wants to do. He now has the world at his feet. What's next in store for this happy, kind, friendly, goofy, hilarious kid? Only time will tell.....

Can you spot Fluffy Head? While guests of the commencement ceremony may arrive at the stadium up to 90 minutes prior to graduation, the graduates get to visit with friends, family, and staff prior to lining up for the big event.

One of Dylan's besties, Dylan Knox (Knoxy)

#7 in all his glory

At 6pm on the dot, the festivities began.

So did the rain.

And the hail

The weather was so ludicrous, videos of the monsoon went viral on social media. It really was a site to behold. Can you hear it?

The rain ceased at times, but the staff did their best to hurry through the ceremony to end the madness

Dylan heading to the stage

After the ceremony (and the rainstorm), the students were bussed back to Mt View High School where friends and family waited to take photos with friends and celebrate their achievement

The 2 Dylans: they've been football and baseball teammates for the last 4 years

Another bestie is Trey. They've shared a lot of fun times and a few classes together

I'm so happy for him!

We were not the only ones to celebrate our graduate; the well wishes came in from family, friends, and even former teachers. I loved seeing Dylan being honored for this accomplishment

What better way to celebrate our new graduate than a party!

A few weeks later, Presley got to enjoy the last day of school

After the school year ended, Presley participated in Summer Session of high school volleyball. This gave her an opportunity to meet others players and show her skills to the coaches before fall tryouts

A Jury Duty summons? For late July? No thanks....I exercised a successful postponement until I'm back at work in September

The day following Presley's last day of school, she was up early to serve at our church's Vacation Bible School for the next 3 days

She was a part of the Games team.

Her days were long, but I'm certain she had an impact during her time there

At work, I am losing one of my fave co-workers. Each day, twice a day, I take a walk to get out of my office. My friend, Meghan, joins me and it has evolved into a bit of a club with some other co-workers where we share our thoughts on books, TV shows and all kinds of other topics. I've named us the UHS Walking Book Club.

Before I head back to work in the fall, Meghan and her family will relocate to Alabama which will leave a sad space for me. Before our daily walks, I had been working with her at 2 schools over the last 8 years. We've also been Facebook friends since I used to play rec Indoor Soccer before Presley was born, so I've known her for a super long time. I'm very excited for her, but she will be missed

Another wonderful event that happened this month is the official coupling of Presley and Tyson! They enjoyed spending Juneteenth at Cottonwood Beach with a couple of friends and Tyson asked if he could be Presley's boyfriend. It was an easy and enthusiastic "YES!"

These two are absolutely adorable and make a point to see each other almost every single day, despite being out of school. They are a perfect match and I'm incredibly happy for her. She definitely has found her person

As my school year wrapped up, I attended one of my favorite annual events: the End-of-the-Year Union Party!

This is my team: Porecha, Angelica, myself & Lisa (along with an absent Sunny) make up the 500 girls. We all get along so well

Add in Principal Gregg and Dean John: Team 500

That's it for June! It was crazy and quick and stressful and amazing.

I will leave you with a random, but sweet video of Coco.

See ya in July!

May 2026

Hello! May 2026 came and went in a fast and furious pace....mostly running around to various sports activities. Here's what happened....

For the last home game of the Baseball season, each senior got to go through their warm-up routine with the person they first played ball with. In our case, Dylan warmed up with Teague. Presley and I were surprised at the tears we had watching this. It's hard to believe that after 12 years of baseball, this is his last season.

Presley had her last Volleyball Tournament on the first weekend of the month. In one tiebreaker game, her team won 15-0

The 14-1 Force team did not have luck on their side at this Regionals competition, but they jumped a number of spots in the rankings over the course of this season, so that was the victory.

As usual, and for the last time, we celebrated the volleyball tournament with In-n-Out....this time at our own location just down the street!

The following week the team volunteered their time at a nearby church by showing younger kids some volleyball skills for a service project

At her end-of-season celebration, she received one of the Coach's Awards

This was the last time 14-1 Force would be together. This is a great group and I have many fun memories of our time with this club

Presley was able to extend her softball season a few more weeks as her team had the opportunity to participate in a play-in game for districts

Unfortunately, she succumbed to 2 raging ear infections and had to miss that playoff game.

Dylan's Baseball team did very well this year.

In this picture, Dylan was sliding into home. To the left of the ump, you can see where the ball fell out of the baseman's mitt. Safe!

Mt View Thunder Baseball became the Evergreen District Champions and 3A League Champions!

Here's a funny pic of me and my work peeps showing how we were handling things at her desk while our building secretary was out of town for a few days

Here's an outing to the Oak Tree Station food trucks

A sweet bouquet from my sweet girl

Gorgeous flowers and a fun beverage from my first born. He can be such a sweetheart!

Spoiled for Mother's Day by Hubby

The ladies in the family were treated to a Mother's Day Brunch. We took this same picture last year with the same people, although Myles was in utero at that time. Funny how much things can change in just a year.

The team did so well, they were able to skip Round 1 and go right to Round 2.

The team participated in a clap out given by the school

I have a video of the whole team, but here's a clip of Dylan walking by. That crazy voice cheering is his super excited sister

The baseball team made a pact at the beginning of the season: if they made it to state, they would all bleach their hair as a sign of team solidarity

Here goes nothing

It surprised me how quickly the color turned

Wow!

The 1st bleaching turned more orange than expected and his teammates advised us to do another bleaching

Believe it or not, the 2nd bleaching does look better. Everyone else on the team looks hideous as well

Teague and I tried out a new local brewery. It has cocktails!

I snuck out of town for 5 days and headed down to Lake Shasta on a Girls Trip. We spent our daytime in the boat, the lake and the pool at our rental house. It was incredible!

Unfortunately, that means I missed Dylan's team at their State Baseball game. I tried to watch online, but the lake's service was spotty (the nerve!). Dylan headed up to Kennewick the night before the game and Teague and Presley headed over to support him at his very last baseball game ever (sniff, sniff).

Presley has been talking to a guy at school for months. He plays baseball as well and she will watch him more than Dylan at the games. They are starting to hang out outside of school and she couldn't be happier. Here is a pic before their first hang.

She invites him over to bake and watch movies

Every day at work I take a morning walk and an afternoon walk to get out of my office. These are some of my walking buddies in the UHS Walking Bookclub

The last pic I have of the month is a nice segue to what you will see coming up in June.

That's right!  Dilly Bar's school career is finally coming to a close. Check back next month for the details.
